The client wanted to use the products from our demonstration facilities as he had been impressed with the experience he received when visiting our showroom. We fitted our 130″ Stewart Cinicurve Screen with horizontal masking into the room and mounted the front LCR speakers behind the acoustically perforated screen. Using a Vidikron Model 110 projector with anamorphic lens & sled mounted on the ceiling above the seating area the system will adjust to the correct format automatically from any movie on the server system – the format can also be changed manually on the Crestron remote control. The seating incorporates five electrically reclining Lazy Boy seats positioned to the rear of the room for the optimal viewing experience. The lighting theme was decided to be very minimal to create the feeling of being at the cinema, the screen itself has been back lit with white LED light strips to create an affect of a floating screen. All lighting control is managed by a Lutron Homeworks system as part of the whole house control. The Crestron control panel has been programmed to allow full control of the cinema and other rooms in the property. When the remote is on its docking station the house security cameras are enabled to allow the client to see who is arriving at the property whilst they are watching a film. The cinema is managed by a dual processor combination of a Crestron AV2 & CP2e which are also used to control the rest of the house.
The DVD and Blu Ray storage is handled by a Kaleidescape 1U server with the choice of one M500 player or two M300 players to view a movie from. The system will allow you to watch that same player but as the second user you would not have any control over it. We have also fitted a music player into the system to allow CD playback in this room. The 7.1 surround sound is processed by a Lexicon MC12HD processor and the seven Meridian A350w speakers are powered by two Meridian C51 power amplifiers located in the AV rack adjacent to the cinema room. The bass is handled by a single Meridian SW5500 subwoofer. The system has been programmed so that the user is able to see which devices are currently being used around the rest of the house so that there is no conflict between the cinema and the rest of the property. The video switching is managed by a Vision HD 16×16 HDMI interface. Throughout the whole build process Dawsons visited and tested all cabling associated to the cinema and the rest of the house to ensure correct positioning and continuity.
