Background

The world famous Sandbanks peninsula contains some of the finest beachfront homes in the UK so when an existing Bang & Olufsen customer sold their Sandbanks property, we were recommended to the new owner to continue supporting the media and entertainment technology and more than happy to share our design expertise in the new owners vision.

This whole house project encompassed numerous technologies and luxury smart features, so we first upgraded the properties network range and wireless performance necessary for seamless connectivity, control and buffer free streaming services. This was achieved with the installation of a complete Ubiquiti wireless network with access points strategically placed around the property.

Crestron Keypad — Next we upgraded the original developer specified control system to a bespoke Crestron solution affording the client simple intuitive control of lighting, heating, AV and other automated house media.
Crestron lighting, automated blinds, gate entry & garage door together with CCTV cameras were also integrated with seamless automation and control from bespoke engraved Crestron keypads located in every room.

The client wanted to provide a luxury escape for the family where they could lose themselves in an immersive sound and visual experience, so we designed this sumptuous eight seat Dolby Atmos Cinema with raised seating, discrete LED step and mood lighting, acoustically damped fabric walls, with Apple TV, Humax 4K Freeview and Sony Blu-Ray sources.

Technically this theatre features a Dolby Atmos 7.2.2 JBL Synthesis processor, amplification and loudspeaker system, with Sony 4K projection onto a 3m Ultimate Screens 16:9 acoustically transparent screen, with control from Phones, iPads & Crestron TSR310 remote.

Finally we saw the expansion of the multi-room TV & audio system. A Beovision Eclipse TV was installed in the kitchen together with the stylish Beosound Shape - B&O’s modular wall mounted wireless loudspeaker system, hanging like a unique piece of art in the kitchen lobby area delivering immersive sound staging whilst improving the acoustics of the room with its integrated damper tiles.

At the heart of each zone is a Beosound Core connectivity hub - a small box that streams music directly from phones, tablets or other connected media via Chromecast, Apple AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth with each zone capable of being fully independent or part of a group or whole house ensemble.

Another Beovision Elipse was integrated into the living room with further zones of audio being ceiling speakers in the Master Bedroom and weatherproof speakers in the garden, garden room and pool area.
